Welcome
Welcome
Greetings......
Welcome to the Lions Club of Jasper, named the #1 Club in the State of Georgia from 2001-2009. Chartered in 1939, we are the oldest and most active civic service organization in our community, and we have enjoyed a proud legacy of service, not only locally, but around the state as well.
The Jasper Lions sponsor various service activities, including the annual Independence Day Celebration, the Veterans Day Parade, and the Community Health Fair. Last Christmas, our local Fill-a-Stocking project provided Christmas presents for over 1000 children in Pickens County. We also participate in a very active recycling program, collecting used eyeglasses, hearing aids, and cellphones, which are sent to the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation. If you have any of these items that you’d like to donate for recycling, please contact us.
Some of our fundraising efforts include the Independence Day raffle, Bucket Brigades to benefit the Georgia Lions Lighthouse and the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind, and the Spring Vidalia Onion Sale. With the money we raise, we help provide sight and hearing services, and support many local organizations and charities.
The Lions of Jasper sponsor two LEO Clubs, one at Pickens County Middle School, and one at Pickens High School. The young people in these two clubs are active in their participation with the Lions.
The Jasper Lions also support the statewide Lions projects, which include the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind, and the Athens Unit of Recordings for the Blind and Dyslexic. In addition, we contribute regularly to the Lions Clubs International Foundation, the grant-making arm of our Association.
